The perfect option for anyone with a passion for hospitality and human interaction. The role of a stewardess consists mainly of caring for the needs of their guests and occasionally may be required to interact on the yacht’s tender or deck.


Training consists of a combination of courses which provides one with all the necessary requirements to be classified as competent

PYA Guest Stewardess Introduction Course

This basic course was created to immerse entry-level Steward/esses into the world of yachting and is done over 5 days during which the individual is provided with the minimum requirements and skills needed in order to gain employment. The course covers the following topics:

  • Interior Introduction
  • Basic Food Service
  • Introduction to wine, bartending and mixology

STCW Basic Safety Training

  • Elementary First Aid (2 days)
  • Marine Fire Fighting¬†and Fire Prevention (3 days)
  • Personal Survival Techniques (2 days)
  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (2 days)

Designated Security Duties Training

  • 2 Day course
  • Required by all crew with designated security duties on board a vessel, including Super Yachts.

Although it is not required, you can enhance your skills through a number of additional courses such as:

  • Food Safety Level 2
  • RYA Powerboat Level II
  • Super Yacht Flower Arranging Course
  • WSET Wine Courses
  • Barista Course
